Finding leadership attributes during during interview for manager.

This article, is based on Leadership attributes about what business has to find during interview of selecting manager. In addition, an advertisement for sales manager is illustrated below.

Vacancy for Sales Manager:

Job vacancy which is published in Merojob.com with deadline June 27, 2021, the Job Category is about the sales/ Public Relations which invite applications with self-motivated, skilled, dynamic, and result oriented. This vacancy is announced for Yeti Technique Farm (YTF).

In this ad, a good sales manager leadership attributes like to be “Personality” and “Knowledge of the Business”.

Personality:-

The managers should be able to identify the quick problems; approach work from a solution based focus and develops creative solution to complex issues. He / she should be have a proven skills in communications, planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building. The personality of manager should be strategies and techniques for the sales targets.  The sales manager personality should be the master of sales procedure and must be able to motivate the buyers. The managers should be able to know the market situation and global market strategies for the sales of the items. The sales manager should identify the customer needs and develops effective solution. The manager personality show be develops and maintain product knowledge so as he/she can identifies customers’ needs and develops an effective solution.

Knowledge of the Business:-

Knowledge of the market tactics decides the future course of action, current market trends, and sales volume. The managers should complete the knowledge of brand promotion and look forward and generate the new opportunities in the market. He / she should be updated the market information and technologies changes so as to satisfy the customer needs and wants. The managers should have the knowledge of product and services of a standing organization.

If I were on the selection panel, I would ask some specific question to judge the leadership attributes which is stated below.

1.      Tell me about a time you lacked the skills or knowledge to successfully hit a goal?

2.      How would you describe your leadership style?

3.      Are there any team members you’ve enjoyed working with in the past?

4.      Imagine the YTF assigns a new team quota you know is undeliverable. It turns on revenue need or not opportunities and resources. How would you handle this situation?

5.      How will you earn the respect of your team?

6.      What motivates you in your current role?

7.      What’s a big risk you’ve taken?

Hence, regarding these two leadership attributes and interview question the sales manager requirement can be done for selecting better human resources in an organization.

Vacancy for Production manager:

Annapurna fertilizer which is renowned company has announced vacancy for the post of Production manager with deadline June 23, 2021. This candidate recruitment process will be based on the leadership attributes. The managers skills will be focused on the interpersonal, decision making, communication, problem solving.

For the leadership attributes, the production manager should have “Leadership Motivation” and “cognitive intelligence (IQ) and Practical Intelligence”.

Leadership Motivation:-

For the production manager, he / she should have leadership motivation to their respective staff and team member during the working. In the production department the most of the staff have to highly motivate for more production output in quantity and quality. He / she should motivate the staff by giving reward, award or as per subordinate need. Mangers should be about to communicate the staff individually to know the staff perception. He/ she should be able to find the monthly production quantity and qualities. He / she should be able to communicate with the clients, government departments and the public.

Cognitive intelligence (IQ) and Practical Intelligence:-

For the leadership attributes, the managers should have cognitive intelligence and practical intelligence to analyze data and predict outcomes based on modeling. The managers should work with the experts and professional to contribute the information in long term management plans and reporting procedures and he/ she should have knowledge of all species to oversee quality assurance for all timber handling processes including sawmilling, storage, transportation procedures, and inspection, sorting and drying. The managers should properly bore samples from ties to analyze these borings for proper moisture content, adequate visual penetration of preservatives, and proper penetration of those preservatives.

If I were on the selection panel, I would ask some specific question to judge the leadership attributes which is stated below.

1.      Describe a time when your idea improved a process. What impact did it have?

2.      You receive an order with a difficult deadline. How do you meet it?

3.      Have you ever worked with contracts? Explain your experience.

4.      There’s a day where everything goes wrong. Your workers call in sick or machines fail and the deadline is inflexible. How would you handle that?

5.      Describe your experience with creating schedules and reports. Have you ever used them to improve processes?

Hence, judging in the above attributes for the production manager in Annapurna fertilizer would be the better methods for finding right person for the right jobs.
